DINING:

At Monwana Lodge, going out to dinner is precisely that (and the night life is really wild). Romantic background music fills the air, courtesy of the resident nightjars and a whole band of nocturnal insects and frogs. There’s no accounting for the behaviour of your fellow diners though; those at the watering hole are known to make real animals of themselves.

A three-course table d’hôte dinner or a braai (freshly and most imaginatively prepared) is served on the tree deck on balmy summer evenings, accompanied by a choice of superb Cape wines.

What a perspective you’ll have on Africa’s night life from up here! In winter, we find comfort in the open fire indoors. Either way, your breakfast, lunch and supper will be delicious, nourishing and fortifying. You’ll need the stamina for tomorrow’s exploration.
